No, the eye itself is not physically touched by eye drops. When eye drops are administered, they are typically placed in the lower eyelid or corner of the eye, allowing the drops to enter the eye through blinking and natural tear movement. The drops then spread across the surface of the eye to provide the intended benefits, such as lubrication or medication. **

The choice between eye drops and eye gel depends on the specific eye condition being treated. Eye drops are typically better for providing quick relief for dry eyes or redness, as they are quickly absorbed and provide instant hydration. On the other hand, eye gel is better for longer-lasting lubrication and protection, making it more suitable for severe dry eye conditions or overnight use. It is best to consult with an eye care professional to determine which option is better suited for your individual needs. **
